Yale University is the third oldest university in the USA. It was founded in 1701. This University is a private one and it belongs to the Ivy League. Yale University is situated in Connecticut.
One of the interesting peculiarities of Yale University is its residential system similar to Oxford and Cambridge. Residential system of Yale University consists of twelve colleges. Each college has all necessary facilities both for students and for staff.
Old rival of Yale University is Harvard University. They always compete in sports and quantity of famous students. As for sports competitions, there are two competitions, the Harvard-Yale Regatta and The Game (football), which are well known to many US students and citizens, because these two competitions are carried out between Yale and Harvard universities.
Such nicknames as “Elis” and “Yalies” are often used in order to call students of Yale University.
Student’s life at Yale University is very dynamic and intensive, because there are many things which you may choose to do. If you are interested in sports then you can try your forces at the most popular kinds of sports at Yale University – boating and football. Yale University is a member of Division I of NCAA. But as well as other Ivy League universities, Yale University doesn’t offer sports scholarships.
