Libraries and Museums of Yale University

Library of Yale University includes over 12 million volumes. It is considered to be the second largest library within the whole United States of America. The main library is called Sterling Memorial Library. It numbers for million volumes. The great amount of rare and valuable books is presented within the collection of books of the Yale University Library.

The Beinecke Rare Book Library contains many ancient manuscripts. John Hey Whitney Medical Library is an owner of historical medical texts. Within this library, not only rare books, but also the collection of old medical instruments can be found.

The Lewis Walpole Library possesses the greatest and the largest collection of the literary works of Great Britain. However, Yale University is famous not only in terms of its out-standing collection of books, but also in terms of different museums which are considered to be a real treasure of the Yale University. The Yale University Art Gallery contains 180,000 of different works in different fields of the human-being life.

Peabody Museum of Natural History is considered to be one of the most popular museums. It contains the collections in archeology, natural environment, and anthropology. The Yale University Collection of Musical Instruments is also a well-known Yale’s Collection and it is always wins the great success with the visitors.
